Cause:
Play in the hinge joint
Use rubber seal, part no. 51 81 995

Remove the seals and seal retainers on the front rail.
|
|

|
Remove the rear plug on the plastic cover in the front rail.
|
|
4.
|
Bend the cover's rear edge outwards and support it with a chisel.
|
|
5.
|
Remove the clip and pull out the rivet.
|
|
6.
|
Cut the rubber seal into two 15 x 11 x 7.5 mm sections.
|
|
7.
|
Grind the adhesion surfaces and wipe clean.
|
|
8.
|
Apply Loctite 406 (primer is not necessary) to the surface of the rubber seal measuring 15 x 11 mm.
|
|
9.
|
Fit the rubber seal as shown in the illustration.
|
|
10.
|
Push the control link into place.
|
|
11.
|
Fit the rivet and clip.
|
|
12.
|
Fit the rear plug on the plastic cover in the front rail.
|
|
13.
|
Fit the seals and seal retainers on the front rail.
|
|
14.
|
Check that the noise no longer occurs.
|
