| It is recommended that 2 people carry out steps 3, 4 and 5. | 
| 1. | Open the bonnet.

| 2. | Remove the hose for the washer nozzles from the bracket on the cover over the bulkhead. | |
| 3. | Mark the position of the bonnet and release the bonnet from the hinges, (2 persons). | |
| 4. | Remove the gas springs from their upper mounts in the bonnet (on ballpins, locked with a clip), ( 2 persons).   | |
| 5. | Lift away the bonnet, (2 persons). | |
| To fit | 
Fit the bonnet in reverse order.

| Bonnet replacement: Remove the front seal and sound insulation (use curved needlenose pliers) from the bonnet to be replaced and remount these on the new bonnet. | 
| Adjustment |

| The bonnet hinge mountings are elongated to permit adjustment of the bonnet position. | 
| 1. | Open the bonnet and loosen the 4 retainer bolts from the bonnet hinges. | |
| 2. | Adjust the bonnet and tighten the retainer bolts. | |
After adjustment
| • | Check the function by opening and closing the bonnet a few times. Drop the bonnet from a height of about 30 cm (12 inches). | |
| • | Check the bonnet locking mechanism by pulling up at the front of the closed bonnet. | |
| Adjustment of bonnet height | 
 
   
   | • | Adjust the bonnet height by means of the striker pin, nominal height 62 mm. Adjust the stops accordingly. | |
