Bonnet
Bonnet |
The bonnet lock mechanism is controlled by a wire from the lever located to the left in the cabin under the instrument panel on a LHD car and to the right on a RHD car.
When the bonnet lock is released, the front of the bonnet is raised by the action of the spring. The bonnet can then be opened by releasing a catch. The lock mechanism is located in the middle and locks onto the front of the radiator member. The catch is located on the right-hand side of the lock mechanism.
The bonnet has two gas lifting springs that hold the bonnet open. The gas springs are located along the front wings, one on each side, and are attached to ball pins in the body and bonnet.
The hinges, double-sheared and lubrication-free, are fixed to the body and bonnet in a way that allows adjustment.
