3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

This product is not classified as hazardous. Repeated or prolonged contact with skin, particularly damaged skin, may cause sensitization or dermatitis in sensitive individuals.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Inhalation

Remove affected person to fresh air, and if still feeling unwell seek medical attention.

Skin

Wash with soap and water. If irritation persists, seek medical advice.

Eyes

Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth with water then give plenty of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice.

Suitable extinguishing media

Non-flammable product (flash point >100°C). If product is involved in fire extinguish with dry powder, foam or carbon dioxide.

Trace amounts of toxic fumes may be released on incineration.

Ventilate area.

Methods for cleaning up

For small spills wipe up with paper towel and place in container for disposal. For large spills absorb onto inert absorbent material and place in sealed container for disposal. Wash spillage site thoroughly with soap and water or detergent solution.



7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Advice for safe handling

Prolonged or repeated skin contact should be avoided to minimize any risk of sensitisation. Loctite applicators are recommended to minimize skin contact, particularly where workers are handling sharp or threaded parts which might result in microlaceration of sensitive areas of the skin.

Storage instructions

Store in original containers at 8°C-28°C and do not return residual materials to containers as contamination may reduce the shelf life of the bulk product.

Hand protection

In case of repeated or prolonged skin contact, wear suitable gloves made of polyethene, natural rubber or similar ester-resistant material.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Inhalation

Low volatility. Low risk that harmful vapours are liberated.

Skin

Acute dermal LD50 (rabbit) is estimated to be > 2000mg/kg. Although it is not a common sensitizer there may be a risk of sensitization on prolonged or repeated contact with damaged or sensitive skin.

Eyes

May cause irritation to the eyes.

Ingestion

This product is considered to be of low toxicity. Acute oral (rat) >5000mg/kg.



12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Ecotoxicity

Biodegradable product of low ecotoxicity. Cured Loctite products are typical polymers and do not pose any immediate environmental hazards.

Storage

Keep away from water and drains.

Other information

Biological and Chemical Oxygen Demands (BOD and COD) of cured Loctite products are insignificant. The environmental impact of the cured product is insignificant in relation to the items in which it is used. Precautions required with respect to environmental hazards of articles in which this product is used should be considered.



13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

Disposal considerations

After use, packaging containing residual product should be disposed of as "chemically contaminated waste" in accordance with local and national regulations. Large quantities of unused products may be disposed as chemical waste after polymerizing by adding Loctite Activator 7638 or 7641. Dispose of in accordance with local and national regulations. Contribution of this product to waste is very insignificant in comparison to articles in which it is used.
