Remove the engine cover and turbo delivery pipe.

Disconnect the glow plugs.
|
3. |
Undo and remove the glow plugs.
|
4. |
Undo the connector sleeve in the direction of the arrow and pull the wiring harness from the fuel distribution pump.

5. |
Connect a compression gauge with a measuring range of between 10 and 40 bar to the glow plug holes together with adapter 83 95 345.

6. |
Run the starter motor for about 4 seconds at a speed of at least 150 rpm. The maximum permissible difference between cylinders is 10%.

7. |
Disconnect the compression gauge and adapter.
|
8. |
Connect the wiring harness to the fuel distribution pump.
|
9. |
Fit the glow plugs.
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 lbf ft). |
10. |
Connect the glow plugs.
|
11. |
Refit the turbo delivery pipe and the engine cover.
|
12. |
Erase any diagnostic trouble codes.
