Idle air control valve (IAC)

Idle air control valve (IAC)
1.
Remove the resonator above the throttle body.
2.
Unplug the idle air control valve (IAC-valve) and remove the valve with hoses.
3.
Remove the valve from the bracket and hoses.
1.
Fit the idle air control valve (IAC-valve) to the hoses and bracket.
The arrow on the IAC valve should be fitted so that it follows the adjusting air flow, from the throttle body's upper part (before the throttle) to the throttle body's lower part (after the throttle).
2.
Fit the valve, with hoses, to the throttle.
3.
Plug in the valve connector.
4.
Fit the resonator. Note the condition and seating of the O-ring. Leakage of air must not occur.
Important
During assembly the O-rings between the resonating chamber and throttle body may be incorrectly positioned with the result that the engine takes in air that has not passed through the mass air flow sensor. This could impair driveability with consequent fault diagnosis measures.
When any work is done that involves removing the resonating chamber from the throttle body, the following steps must always be taken:
•
The O-ring and its seating should be checked. Replace any O-rings that are deformed.
•
Grease the O-ring with non-acidic petroleum jelly (vaseline).
