Remove the resonator.

Remove the dipstick pipe.

3. |
Lift the car and remove the knock sensor connector.
|
4. |
Remove the knock sensor.

Before fitting the knock sensor the contact surface in the engine block should be carefully cleaned. |

Fit the knock sensor.
Tightening torque: 22 Nm (16 lbf ft) |

Plug in the knock sensor connector.

3. |
Lower the car and fit the dipstick pipe.
|
4. |
Fit the resonator.
|
Important | ||
During assembly the O-rings between the resonating chamber and throttle body may be incorrectly positioned with the result that the engine takes in air that has not passed through the mass air flow sensor. This could impair driveability with consequent fault diagnosis measures. |
||
When any work is done that involves removing the resonating chamber from the throttle body, the following steps must always be taken: |

Check the condition of the O-rings and that they are properly seated.
Replace any O-rings that are deformed. |

Grease the O-rings with non-acidic petroleum jelly (vaseline).
