2. Remove accelerator cable and cruise control cable where applicable.

3. Unscrew the cap on the expansion tank to release the pressure in the cooling system.

4. Remove the IAC valve.

5. Detach the coolant hoses from the throttle body.

6. Detach the remaining hoses from the throttle body.

7. Remove the throttle position sensor.

8. Undo the 4 retaining screws and lift away the throttle body.

To fit

1. Check the condition and position of the O-ring.

2. Fit the throttle body and tighten the screws

Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 lbf ft)

3. Fit the throttle position sensor.

4. Check the throttle adjustment. Adjust if necessary by undoing 2 screws and sliding the attaching bracket in the desired direction.

5. Connect all hoses, accelerator cable and cruise-control cable where applicable.

6. Fit the IAC valve.

7. Fit the resonator above the throttle body.

8. Check the function.

Important

During assembly the O-rings between the resonating chamber and throttle body may be incorrectly positioned with the result that the engine takes in air that has not passed through the mass air flow sensor. This could impair driveability with consequent fault diagnosis measures.

When any work is done that involves removing the resonating chamber from the throttle body, the following steps must always be taken:

Check the condition of the O-rings and that they are properly seated.

Replace any O-rings that are deformed.

Grease the O-rings with non-acidic petroleum jelly (vaseline).
