Ground
Ground |
Power ground, G7P |
The control module is connected to the power ground via pins 2,14 and 24. The control module's main ground is connected on pin 14.
Reference ground Lambda, G7L |
The control module receives reference ground for closed loop via pin 10.
Signal ground, G7S |
Control module pin 19 is connected to signal ground G7S. The camshaft and crankshaft position sensor as well as the ground screen to the oxygen sensor signal leads are also connected to the signal ground.
Sensor ground |
The control module grounds pin 30, which constitutes the grounding point for the sensors:
• |
throttle position sensor
|
• |
knock Sensor
|
• |
engine coolant temperature sensor
|
Check of grounding points |
Potential difference between the main ground on pin 14 and the sensor ground on pin 30 should be less then approx. 0.1 Volt.
Checking of the control module's main ground can be done using a voltmeter by measuring the voltage cross pin 14 and the battery's negative terminal. The voltage should be less then 0.1 volt.
The checking of other grounding points is done in the same way, but the voltage should be checked between pin 14 and pins 2, 24, 10 and 19 respectively. Even here the voltage should be less then 0.1 volt.
