Idle speed control

Idle speed control

The Idling speed is controlled via a double-coiled IAC valve with the help of signals from the control module.

The automatic idle speed control is adaptive, which means that it continually adjusts to changes that occur during the life of the engine. This could be wear and tear of the engine, dirt or leaks in the intake manifold or throttle body.

The control module is programmed to maintain the idling speed if the car's speed is less then 3 km/h while the throttle potentiometer indicates the closed throttle position.

Engine speed compensation occurs when connecting the A/C, when choosing DRIVE on cars with automatic transmission and when the radiator fan is connected.

Idling speed for Motronic 2.10.3 is 900 rpm.
