Throttle body

To remove



1. Remove the engine cover.

2. Remove the connecting pipe to the throttle body.

3. Detach the accelerator and cruise control wires.

4. Unscrew the cap on the expansion tank to release the pressure in the cooling system.

5. Remove the idle speed control valve.


6. Detach the coolant hoses from the throttle body.

7. Detach the remaining hoses from the throttle body.

8. Remove the throttle position sensor.

9. Undo the 4 retaining screws and lift away the throttle body.


To fit



1. Check the condition and position of the O-ring.

2. Fit the throttle body and tighten the screws

Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 lbf ft)

3. Fit the throttle position sensor.

4. Check the throttle disc position by measuring the depth to the disc. The measurement should be the same on both sides of the throttle disc. Do not use a vernier caliper. Adjust as necessary by loosening the 2 screws and then moving the bracket in the relevant direction.


5. Connect all hoses and the accelerator and cruise control wires.

6. Fit the idle speed control valve.

7. Fit the connecting pipe to the throttle body.

8. Check the function.

9. Fit the engine cover.
