On-Board Diagnostics
Type of diagnosis:
-
Once per driving cycle. Interrupted when fault criteria fulfilled or OK reported. Restarts next driving cycle.
Enable criteria
-
Tests 1, 2 and 3: Engine running. A counter accumulates a value for each second that passes since the engine was started. With the accelerator pedal depressed, the value is 1 and with the accelerator pedal released, the value is 0.5. Starting temperatures for intake air and coolant have been registered and the lowest of them has been selected.
Fault criteria
-
Test 1: When the temperature value is below -7°C, the counter reaches 600 before closed loop starts.
-
Test 2: When the temperature value is between -7°C and 10°C, the counter reaches 300 before closed loop starts.
-
Test 3: When the temperature value exceeds 10°C, the counter reaches 120 before closed loop starts.
Dependents
System reaction to a fault
OK report
-
Test 1: The number of adapted engine revolutions has at some time dropped. Test 2 performed once and fault criteria not fulfilled.

Diagnostic help
Fault diagnosis concerns an electrical fault in connecting leads or in the sensor.
Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
•
Diagnostic status for the diagnosis.
•
All readings in the group: LAMBDA STATUS.
•
Oxygen Sensor Value, unit V.
•
Coolant Temperature, unit °C.

Checking the wiring
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Observe the multimeter, diagnostic tool or test lamp during the check.
