Diagnostics

Diagnostics

The cruise control switch and the clutch and brake pedals are used when diagnosing fault. On cars with automatic transmission, the cruise control switch, the brake pedal and the selector lever are used.

Fault diagnosis is carried out in diagnostics mode and a general description of the procedure is given in the table below. Follow the instructions described in points 1 to 3 in the table to enter the diagnostics mode. Then start fault diagnosis in point 4 and work your way through the entire fault diagnosis procedure to point 17, step by step.

Start fault diagnosis by checking:

1. The fuses, see

2. Power supply +54, see

3. Grounding, see

4. The connections in the control module connector for possible pin slide-out.

To leave the diagnostics mode, increase speed to above 32 km/h (20 mph) or switch off the ignition. If you happen to make a mistake while in diagnostics mode, you will be returned automatically to point 4. You then have to start again from this point.
