Service message
Service message |
SID 1 and 2 are equipped with a service indicator which shows the message “TIME FOR SERVICE” on the SID unit when it is time to service the car. The time for this is controlled by the distance counter which shows how far the car has travelled since the last service, and the day counter which calculates the number of days since the last service.
The service interval is programmable and is programmed during production according to market requirements. If necessary, the interval can be changed using the diagnostic tool.
Activation of the service message |
The service message is shown when the day counter reaches 365 days or when 1000 km or 600 miles are left until the next service, whichever is the sooner. The message is shown when the ignition is turned on and reads “CHECKING”.
Manual reset |
The service message is reset by holding down the CLEAR button for at least 8 seconds. “CLEARED” appears on the display after 4 seconds and an acoustic signal is heard. After a further 4 seconds, “SERVICE” appears and an acoustic signal is heard. Resetting means that the service interval is recalculated and the day counter zeroed again.
Automatic reset |
The service message is reset automatically when it has been activated (shown) 20 times on the display.
Reset with diagnostic tool |
The service message can be reset using the diagnostic tool even if it has not been activated. This is useful if a service is carried out before a long journey for example. The time for the next service is then calculated starting from the current odometer reading. On resetting, the day counter is also zeroed.
