CHECK GEARBOX warning lamp

CHECK GEARBOX warning lamp

The CHECK GEARBOX warning lamp is located in the main instrument unit.

The lamp is grounded via the control module pin 11 and is supplied with power from +15 via the main instrument unit.

The lamp will go on for 3 seconds when the ignition key is turned to the ON position (lamp test).

Trionic 7 with bus: When a fault arises in the automatic transmission or TCM control module, the CHECK GEARBOX warning lamp in the MIU lights up. In the event of less serious faults the CHECK GEARBOX is lit during the second driving cycle. The diagnostic trouble code is however generated during the first driving cycle. In the event of a fault, the TCM sends “CHECK GEARBOX ON” over the bus. The MIU control module grounds the output of the CHECK GEARBOX warning lamp, which thus lights. When the TCM sends the message “CHECK GEARBOX OFF”, the lamp is extinguished. When the ignition is turned on, the TCM turns the lamp on for 3 seconds, and if no fault is detected, the lamp then extinguishes.
