The TCM receives information on the current engine speed, unit rpm, via the bus. The control module compares engine speed with gearbox input speed when Lock-Up is engaged. If the difference is greater than 100 rpm between the engine speed and gearbox input speed, diagnostic trouble code P0741 will be generated.
Diagnostics
A diagnostic trouble code will be generated primarily in Trionic if the function is faulty.
Diagnostic trouble code P1921 will be generated if bus communication with Trionic ceases and the transmission will go into limp-home mode.
Incorrect information on the bus will generate diagnostic trouble code P1971. TCM may go into emergency operation (limp-home) mode depending on the fault.
