Kickdown function
Kickdown function |
T5: The kickdown switch, located under the accelerator pedal, provides information to the transmission control module, pin 37, when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed. When fully depressed, the accelerator pedal activates the kickdown switch and puts 0 V (ground) on pin 37.
T7 with bus: Trionic has a pedal position sensor that provides information on the position of the accelerator pedal. When the angle of the pedal exceeds a predetermined value, the Trionic sends the information ”KICKDOWN ON” over the bus, value ON/OFF.
All variants: The control module uses the signal to control the shifting points so that maximum performance is obtained. The kickdown function is available in all shifting programs.

Diagnostics
A diagnostic trouble code will be generated primarily in Trionic if the function is faulty.
Diagnostic trouble code P1921 will be generated if bus communication with Trionic ceases and the transmission will go into limp-home mode.
Incorrect information on the bus will generate diagnostic trouble code P1971. TCM may go into emergency operation mode depending on the fault.
