All models M94- and Cabriolet M95- with manual gearbox
A new gearbox oil, Saab MTF 0063, which improves shifting quality, has been introduced into production from January 1, 2002.
This oil can be used in older models up to and including M94 (Cabriolet from M95) in order to improve shifting capability under the condition that the description under the heading "Procedure" is followed.

Drain the gearbox oil by loosening drain plug 3.

2.
|
Fill with 1.5 litres of the new oil (plug 1).
|
3.
|
Raise the car so the front wheels are suspended in the air.
|
4.
|
Start the engine. Engage 1st gear and allow the engine to drive the front wheels approximately 20-30 seconds. Stop the engine and lower the car.

|
Drain the gearbox oil again by loosening the drain plug 3.
|
6.
|
Fill with 1.5 litres of the new oil (plug 1).

7.
|
Raise the car so the front wheels are suspended in the air.
|
8.
|
Start the engine. Engage 1st gear and allow the engine to drive the front wheels approximately 20-30 seconds. Stop the engine and lower the car.

9.
|
Drain the gearbox oil by loosening the drain plug (3).
|
10.
|
Fill with gearbox oil to the proper level (1.5-1.8 litres) (check with level plug 2).
|
11.
|
Clean the area on the radiator member near the headlamp on the left-hand side. Remove the label with a warning triangle from the bottle/container and attach it to the radiator member.

12.
|
Remove the small label from the bottle/container and paste over the existing text regarding gearbox oil in the owner's manual section entitled “Technical data”.
