(870-2350) Intermittent autocalibration, ACC panel
Symptom: The ACC panel displays a zero. In some cases, this is followed by DTC no. 22. Ventilation fan speed goes down to zero for approx. 25 seconds, after which the entire system resumes its normal function.

Saab 9-3 with ACC. M00-02 up to VIN 22041733 (3D/5D) and 27013807 (CV/Viggen), respectively.
In certain cars, the ACC panel carries out intermittent autocalibration.
Symptom description
The ACC panel displays a zero. In some cases, this is followed by DTC no. 22. Ventilation fan speed goes down to zero for approx. 25 seconds, after which the entire system resumes its normal function.
Download new software to the ACC unit by carefully observing the following instructions. Use TIS 2000 Edition 2002-2.1 (US and Canada 2002-2) or later.

Connect the diagnostic tool to the data link connector.

Start the diagnostic tool and select
Service Programming System (SPS)
.
|
3.
|
Select
F0: Request Info
.
|
4.
|
Then select: model year, vehicle type, group, vehicle system.
|
5.
|
Follow the instructions in the diagnostic instrument.
|
6.
|
Disconnect the diagnostic tool from the car and connect it to the COM port of the computer (flat cable). TIS2000 should be installed on the computer.

|
Check if the software in the computer is newer than that of the ACC unit. If so, download it to the diagnostic tool.
|
8.
|
Disconnect the diagnostic tool from the computer and connect it to the car.
|

Start the diagnostic tool and select
Service Programming System (SPS)
.

11.
|
Follow the instructions in the diagnostic tool.
|
12.
|
Wait until the entire programming process is complete. This takes approx. 6 minutes.
|
13.
|
Once programming is complete: Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. Then wait until the ACC display goes out (5 - 10 seconds).

14.
|
Start the engine and wait until the ACC unit has been calibrated and the display looks normal.
|
15.
|
Disconnect the diagnostic tool.
