A personal communication must be sent to the owners of cars already delivered requesting them to get in touch with the nearest Saab garage as soon as possible to have the fault rectified.

Background

The sill under the rear left door has been scratched in production. The scratch is 2 cm long and is located under the third weld screw from the bottom.

Procedure

Check box A2 on the modification identity plate before proceeding. Continue as follows if the box is not marked.

1.	Remove the left-hand scuff plate, see WIS - Exterior - Adjustment/replacement - Outer scuff plate 5D and Outer scuff plate sports package/Aero 5D.

2.	Thoroughly wipe the damaged area with cleaning agent, Cleaner Teroson FL T875.

3.	If the damage has penetrated down to the ED layer or the metal, Standox etching primer must be applied to the damaged area. Allow the primer to air-dry for 10 minutes.

4.	Apply the base paint to the damaged area and allow it to air-dry for 10 minutes.

5.	Apply clear enamel to metallic base paint. Do not apply clear enamel to solid paints.

6.	Fit the scuff plate, see WIS - Exterior - Adjustment/replacement - Outer scuff plate 5D and Outer scuff plate sports package/Aero 5D. Note The paint does not need to dry before fitting the scuff plate.

Marking the modification identity plate

After carrying out the procedure, box A2 on the modification identity plate must be marked. Mark the box with the number "7" if the procedure was carried out by the importer or with the number "8" if carried out by the dealer.
