3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

General information

May cause sensitization. Persons who have displayed allergic symptoms to isocyanates must not come into contact with the material. In general, refer to the provisions of the Swedish National Board of Occupational Safety and Health on thermosetting plastics, AFS 1996:4. The product can be ignited but is not flammable. Heating may produce monomer isocyanates. See under heading 10 below. See also the provisions of the Swedish National Board of Occupational Safety and Health, AFS 1994:2.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

In case of emergency, ring 112 and ask for poisons information.

Inhalation

Fresh air. If necessary provide artificial respiration or oxygen as appropriate.

Skin

Wash with soap and water. Do not use a solvent. Moisturize with a non-perfumed hand cream.

Eyes

Flush immediately with plenty of water for several minutes. Hold eyelids wide open. Seek medical attention immediately.

Ingestion

Seek medical attention for treatment of symptoms. Present this information if possible.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

Suitable extinguishing media

No restrictions.

Specific hazards

Depending on the situation in the event of a fire (oxygen supply, temperature, etc) the following products of combustion may form or be released: Isocyanates (NCO).

6. SPILLAGE/ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Personal precautions

Spilt material can be neutralized with water with a small quantity of normal household detergent (tensides) added.

Methods for cleaning up

Take spillage for controlled disposal. See also under heading 13.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Advice for safe handling

No special handling measures required.

Storage instructions

Cool, dry and frost-free. Optimum storage temperature: 15°C-25°C. Seal packaging well after use.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION

Technical measures

In addition to good working hygiene and standard safety precautions for the handling and use of chemical products, the exposure time for constituent harmful products must be observed.
