STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Stability
Constituent isocyanates can react with water, amines, alcohols and acids. Heating can cause the release of harmful substances - even from hardened material.
11.
TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Inhalation
The constituent isocyanate is not particularly volatile and the product only contains very small amounts. The risk of exposure is therefore very small but does exist in case of heating or handling very large quantities. Inhalation of the constituent isocyanate may cause stinging and a prickling sensation in the respiratory system, and even nausea and vomiting. May produce influenza-like symptoms, such as soar throat, coughing, fever, shivers, headache and muscular aches. May cause asthmatic breathing difficulties. Note that hypersensitive persons can experience breathing problems at very low concentrations, even under the set limits, and that symptoms may be delayed, appearing several hours after exposure.
Skin
Small risk allergic eczema, especially for persons already sensitized.
Eyes
Causes stinging on contact with the eyes.
