Remove the engine cover.

Unplug the crankshaft position sensor connector.
|
|
| 3. |
Raise the car and remove the lower engine cover.
|
|
| 4. |
Remove the crankshaft position sensor.
|
|
| To fit |
| 1. |
Clean the sealing surfaces and fit a new O-ring to the crankshaft position sensor.
|
|
| 2. |
Lubricate the O-ring with acid-free vaseline and fit the crankshaft position sensor.
Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 lbf ft). Run the sensor cable up to the connector bracket.

Put back the lower engine cover and lower the car.
|
|
| 4. |
Spray the crankshaft position sensor connector with Kontakt 61 (part no. 30 04 520) and plug it in.

| 5. |
Make sure the sensor cable is not near any warm or sharp objects. Secure as necessary.
|
|
| 6. |
Fit the engine cover.
