Crankshaft position sensor

/ 9-3 (9400) / 2001 / 2. Engine / EDC 15 (D223L) / Adjustment/replacement / Crankshaft position sensor

To remove

1.	Remove the engine cover.

2.	Unplug the crankshaft position sensor connector.

3.	Raise the car and remove the lower engine cover.

4.	Remove the crankshaft position sensor.

To fit

1.	Clean the sealing surfaces and fit a new O-ring to the crankshaft position sensor.

2.	Lubricate the O-ring with acid-free vaseline and fit the crankshaft position sensor. Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 lbf ft). Run the sensor cable up to the connector bracket.

3.	Put back the lower engine cover and lower the car.

4.	Spray the crankshaft position sensor connector with Kontakt 61 (part no. 30 04 520) and plug it in.

5.	Make sure the sensor cable is not near any warm or sharp objects. Secure as necessary.

6.	Fit the engine cover.
