Speed, lead from ABS
| Speed, lead from ABS |
The ABS control module sends a speed signal to pin 68 on the EDC 15 control module. The signal is a square wave that alternates between 0v and B+ 29 times per wheel revolution. The signal is used to:
| • |
determine the gear currently engaged. This ensures the engine receives the correct amount of fuel in different gear positions when the accelerator pedal is released.
| • |
provide an impulse for cruise control.
| Diagnostics |
| • |
If there is no speed signal, diagnostic trouble code P0502 will be generated.
| • |
If the speed signal exceeds 220 km/h, diagnostic trouble code P0500 will be generated.
| • |
The speed (bus from MIU) is used as a substitute value.
