Coolant temperature, PSG 16

The coolant temperature gauge gives the driver information on engine coolant temperature.

The coolant temperature gauge is powered and controlled from the main instrument unit.

PSG 16 sends continuous information on the bus concerning the coolant temperature.

The scale on the coolant temperature gauge is divided by 5 fixed breakpoints. The main instrument unit is programmed so that the gauge needle is directed to the fixed breakpoints at certain specified temperatures, giving a stable display at normal coolant temperatures.

The following breakpoints are programmed in the main instrument unit (works setting):

Coolant temperature

-into "blue" zone

30°C (fixed value)

-out of "blue" zone

50°C

-into "horizontal" position

80°C

-out of "horizontal" position

110°C

-into "red" zone

119°C

-out of "red" zone

133°C (fixed value)

The function has its diagnostics in the sending system.
