The main instrument unit is fitted with an electronic tachometer, which is powered and controlled from the main instrument control module.
PSG 16 sends continuous information on the bus concerning engine speed, unit rpm.
When engine speed is below 1100 rpm (around idling speed), the display is "damped" to give a more stable reading.
Diagnosis
The function has its own diagnostics in the sending system.
