Wiring harness, side airbag, RH side


Warning

The joining of SRS cables is forbidden.

Joining can cause functional disorders that make the system unusable and can lead to personal injuries


Changing

Note

If the car is fitted with a radio other than a Saab original radio, check that the customer has the radio code before you begin work.



1. Disconnect the negative lead of the battery.

2. Remove the RH seat

3. Remove the floor console.

4. Remove the RH outer side panel.

5. Remove the RH bottom portion of the dashboard and the knee shield.

6. Remove the scuff plate from the RH front door.

7. Bend aside the mats at the door sill and seat member.

8. Unplug the RH door switch.

9. Prise out the brown/orange wire from pin 27 and the orange/blue wire from pin 26.

10. Place the spare parts harness behind the engine control module.

11. Prise in the spare parts harness' blue/orange wire in pin 27 and the orange/blue wire in pin 26.

12. Tape the spare parts harness behind the engine control module.

Place the spare parts harness along the sill up to the seat member. Follow the seat member to the floor console with the portion of the spare parts harness that has four wires.

14. The portion of the spare parts harness that has red/yellow and brown/yellow wires is pulled along the wiring harness to the seat.

15. Unplug the connector to the seat.

16. Prise out the red/yellow wire from pin 9.

17. Prise in the red/yellow wire from the spare parts harness in pin 9.

18. Prise out the brown/yellow wire from pin 7.

19. Prise in the brown/yellow wire from the spare parts harness in pin 7.

20. Put the connector back together.

Unplug the 10-pin connector in front of the airbag control module.

22. Prise out the brown/orange wire from pin 10 and the orange/brown wire from pin 9 in the connector.

23. Prise in the spare parts harness' brown/orange wire in pin 10 and orange/brown wire in pin 9.

24. Put the connector back together.

25. Unplug the grey 2-pin connector in front of the airbag control module.

26. Connect the spare parts harness' 2-pin switch with the car's switch.

27. Use tape to secure the spare parts harness to the car's standard harness.

28. Isolate all removed pins with tape and tape them up against the wiring harness so that they do not cause rattles.

29. Bend back the mats.

30. Fit the scuff plate.

31. Fit the outer side panel.

32. Fit the floor console.

33. Fit the seat.

34. Connect the battery's negative lead.

35. Start the engine and check to make sure the airbag lamp does not light.

36. Erase all DTCs in SRS.

37. Set the clock and program the radio code if applicable.
