Seal ring - selector rod, removed gearbox

To remove

Prise out the seal using a narrow screwdriver.

Important
Do not damage the sealing surface on the selector rod.

To fit

Clean the selector rod and check that it has no burrs.

Wind a layer of thin, smooth plastic tape around the hole in the selector rod.

Remove the tape and tap in the seal using 87 90 685 Fitting tool, sealing ring selector shaft and 87 91 709 Clamp . Tap only until the seal is level with the clutch housing.
