Front wings

Removing



1. Unplug the connector for the side direction indicators.

2. Remove the retaining screw that secures the front edge of the wing to the inside of the wheel housing.

Note

The retaining screw is most easily removed using TORX-bit and a small adjustable wrench.


3. Lower the car.

4. Remove the wing liners from the front wing.

5. Remove the light cluster and unplug the connector.

6. Open the front door so that the two rear retaining screws for the wing become accessible, between the wing and the door.


Note

The door stop may have to be removed so that the door can be opened further.


7. Remove the rear retaining screws.

Note

The screws do not have to be removed, the wing can be pulled out of the mounting.


8. Remove the retaining screws on top of the wing (7 screws).

Note

For the left wing, the retaining screw holding the washer fluid filler pipe must also be removed.


9. Remove the bonnet gas spring from the structural member.

10. Carefully lift away the front wing.

11. Fit the bonnet gas spring in the structural member.

Note

When replacing the wing, transfer the side direction indicators and decor strip to the new wing.



Fitting


The rivets are removed by pushing out the centre pin with a drift.


1. Remove the bonnet gas spring from the structural member.

2. Fit the front wings.

3. Fit the bonnet gas spring in the structural member.

4. Insert the retaining screws at the top and rear of the wing.

5. Adjust the fit of the wing against the bonnet and door.

6. Tighten the retaining screws.

Note

Left side: fit the washer fluid filler pipe to the wing (1 screw).


7. Fit the door stop (if removed).


8. Fit the light cluster and plug in the connector.

9. Snap the wing liner onto the front wing.

10. Lower the car.

11. Fit the screw that secures the front of the wing.

Note

The mounting is located on the inside of the wheel housing and fitting is facilitated by using a TORX-bit and a small adjustable wrench.


12. Plug in the connector for the side direction indicators.
