Direct current motor, air recirculation flap

Direct current motor, air recirculation flap

The recirculation flap is operated by a direct current motor installed on the passenger side of the climate housing. The flap has only two positions. When the motor has turned the flap to one of the end positions, the power supply is restricted through the motor windings by two PTC resistors that are built into the motor. PTC stands for Positive Thermal Coefficient and means that the resistance increases when warmed up (opposite to NTC). The motor is not damaged by being supplied with power due to the internal power limitation.

The motor is supplied with power from pin 6 and 7 in the control panel. The outlet poles are reversed in order to change the rotational direction of the motor.
