Coolant/cooling system

Check the antifreeze mixture. The coolant should be able to withstand between -30°C and -35°C (-22°F to -31°F) at least. In certain climates, it is necessary for the coolant to withstand even lower temperatures. If necessary, top up with 50% Saab Original Antifreeze and 50% water.

Important

This mixture also provides effective corrosion protection.

Avoid mixing different types of coolant.

Fill the system when the engine is cold but not above the MAX level mark. Warm up the engine until the thermostat opens and check the level of the coolant.

Important

Screw the filler cap down hard or the system will not be pressurized, resulting in a lower boiling point and loss of coolant.

Check the condition of the hoses.
