SE, US and CA only . OBD II specification car: Check that there are no remaining faults that could initiate a CHECK ENGINE warning.

Road testing should carried out for at least 15 minutes at varying engine loads.

Finish the road test by running the engine at idling speed with the selector lever in the N position and without any load from the A/C compressor or generator (all current consumers and A/C switched off) for 30-60 seconds.

Functionality checks |
• |
Ignition switch: Check that the gear-lever lock operates satisfactorily and that the key is easy to insert and remove. Check the parking position lock on cars with automatic transmission (certain markets only).

Engine: Operation and noise level. If a turbo gauge is present, make sure that the boost pressure is normal during acceleration (the dial should go up towards the red zone).

Clutch: Check the clutch disengagement and engagement positions.
|
• |
Gearbox (manual): Check operation and noise level.
|
• |
Transmission (automatic): Check the starter motor interlock, noise level and shifting performance. Check the following functions: Starting in economy and winter positions. Automatic and manual disengagement of winter position. Engagement and disengagement of the sport position

Wheels: Check wheel balance and wheel roundness.
|
• |
Steering assembly: Check the straight-ahead position of the steering wheel, directional stability and operation of the power steering system.

• |
Instruments and indicator lamps: Check the operation of instruments and indicator lamps.
|
• |
Brakes: Check brake pedal travel, handbrake lever travel (4-6 notches) and the efficiency of the footbrake and handbrake.

Cruise Control: Check the functionality of the Cruise Control system.
|
• |
Heating and ventilation unit: Check the operation of the ventilation and A/C systems and controls. When the outdoor temperature is so low that the A/C cannot be turned on, check its operation indoors.

• |
Inspect the surface of the steering wheel airbag module and passenger airbag, if fitted, for external damage.
|
• |
Wipers and washers: Check the washer jet pattern and wiper operation on the windscreen and the rear window where applicable.
|
• |
Check that the clock shows the right time.
