The overheating function for the coolant temperature engages at a temperature of 118°C for more than 5 seconds.

Diagnostic help
The overheating function limits the amount of fuel until the correct temperature has been attained.EGR control and boost pressure monitoring diagnostics are shut off in the event of a fault.
The overheating protection normally operates during very extreme driving conditions, such as outside temperatures higher than 30°C (86°F) and driving with a trailer on long, steep inclines like when driving in the Alps. Check that the cooling system is working and that nothing prevents airflow into and out of the engine bay. If the cooling system is in order, erase the DTC and inform the customer of the function of the overheating protection.
