Symptom: CHECK ENGINE lamp on.
Inferior performance.
Limp home.
P0403
EGR Valve PWM Signal Circuit. Short to Ground.
P0404
EGR Valve PWM Signal Circuit. Short to B+.
P1404
EGR Valve PWM Signal Circuit. Open Circuit.
Fault symptom
Conditions
The following conditions apply for the DTC in question:

P0403:
EGR circuit shorting to ground for more than 0.6 seconds.

|
P0404:
EGR circuit shorting to B+ for more than 0.6 seconds.
|
•
|
P1404:
Break in EGR circuit for more than 0.6 seconds.

Diagnostic help
•

P0403:
The diagnostic trouble code indicates an electrical fault in the EGR circuit. The control module uses 50% PWM signal as a substitute value for the EGR valve. The control module uses 2% PWM signal to regulate the boot pressure. The diagnostic tool reading is the same as the substitute value.

The diagnostic trouble code indicates an electrical fault in the EGR circuit. The control unit uses 50% PWM signal as a substitute value for EGR. The diagnostic tool reading is the same as the substitute value.

The diagnostic trouble code indicates an electrical fault in the EGR circuit. The control unit uses 50% PWM signal as a substitute value for EGR. The diagnostic tool reading is the same as the substitute value.
