Diagnostic help

If the engine is difficult to start, make sure air is not leaking in between the fuel tank and the diesel pump.

Also, make sure air is not leaking in the fuel return hoses between the fuel bridges and the suction side of the diesel engine by:

1. Connecting 30 14 883 Pressure/vacuum pump to the fuel return hose on the diesel pump.

2. Create a vacuum and close the valve. If the vacuum drops noticeably within about 60 seconds then there is a leak.

3. Check which part of the hose system is causing the leak by pinching the hoses in turn and repeating the test. When the vacuum does not drop, the faulty hose has been detected.
