Temperature/pressure sensor, intake manifold

Temperature/pressure sensor, intake manifold

The pressure/temperature sensor, which is mounted on the induction pipe, informs the engine control module of the current pressure in the intake manifold and the temperature of the incoming air.

The pressure sensor has the following connections:

1. Power supply: Pin 3 on the sensor is connected to pin 39 on the engine control module.

2. Sensor ground: Pin 1 on the sensor is connected to pin 46 on the engine control module

3. Signal, pressure in intake manifold: Pin 4 on the sensor is connected to pin 9 on the engine control module

4. Signal temperature: Pin 2 on the sensor is connected to pin 22 on the engine control module.

The pressure sensor is a piezo-resistive sensor with its own electronics for signal amplification and temperature compensation. The electronics in the sensor are semi-conductors, mounted on a chip that bends with changes in the air pressure. This allows more or less power through depending on the outside air pressure.

The temperature sensor, which is an NTC sensor, is mounted in such a way that it is rewound by the incoming air mass.

Diagnosis

If the difference between the boost pressure sensor and the atmospheric pressure sensor is more than 0.225 bar for more than 3 seconds, DTC P0106 will be generated.

If the signal on the control module's sensor input is less than 0.4 V for more than 0.6 seconds, DTC P0107 will be generated.

If the signal on the control module's sensor input is more than 4.7 V for more than 0.6 seconds, DTC P0108 will be generated.

If the pressure sensor input is short-circuited to ground, DTC P0112 will be generated.

If the pressure sensor input is short-circuited to B+, DTC P0113 will be generated.

System reaction to a fault

For DTC P0106, the reading on the diagnostic tool is 1013 hPa.

For DTC P0107, the reading on the diagnostic tool is 1013 hPa.

For DTC P0108, the reading on the diagnostic tool is 1013 hPa.

For DTC P0112, the reading on the diagnostic tool is 20ºC.

For DTC P0113, the reading on the diagnostic tool is 20ºC.
