CD changer
CD changer |
General |
The CD changer is an accessory for which the car has been prepared with prewiring and connectors. One cable is still required, however, and this is supplied together with the CD changer.
The CD changer is activated by:
• |
AS1: Pressing the CDC button on the main unit.
AS2, AS3: Pressing the CD button on the main unit once if the CD player is active. |
• |
AS2, AS3: Pressing the CD button on the main unit twice if the audio system is in RADIO mode.
|
Function |
The CD changer is powered separately (+30 circuit) from fuse 13 to pin 6 of the CD changer connector.
When the audio system is activated, the CD changer will read the “wake-up” information on the bus (pin 5 and pin 11) from the main unit. The CD changer is then activated (switched on).
The sound signal (line outputs) from the CD changer to the main unit is supplied via:
• |
pins 3 and 8 for left channel
|
• |
pins 2 and 7 for right channel
|
The CD changer functions are controlled by commands from the main unit via the bus.
When the CD changer is active, information is transmitted to the bus. The SID unit reads the information and shows the current status on the display.
See Test readings, CD changer connections .
