Arming the anti-theft alarm
Press the LOCK button to arm the anti-theft alarm. When the button is pressed, the signal is acknowledged by the car's direction indicators flashing once. The flash/sound acknowledgement for this function is programmable.
•
The anti-theft alarm is now armed and all doors locked on the central locking. The tailgate is also armed if it is closed.
•
When the alarm has been armed, the LED lights up with a steady glow for 10 seconds. During this so called delay period, the siren is not armed and the passenger doors (not driver's door), boot lid or bonnet can be open without the alarm being activated. The delay time for glass breakage and tilt sensor is 15 seconds.
•
If the driver's door is opened during the delay time, the alarm is disarmed automatically. After the delay time, the LED changes from continuously lit to flashing which indicates that the alarm is armed.
Important
If the driver's door is open or the ignition on, the alarm cannot be armed or the car locked/unlocked. However, the alarm can be disarmed if a door is open.
