Remove the gearbox, see Transmission, Manual gearbox

Fit
83 94 868 Flywheel locking attachment
so that the flywheel is locked.
|
3. |
Remove the bolts securing the pressure plate and remove the clutch.
|
4. |
Inspect the contact surface for the driven plate on the flywheel. If it is blued or if there are small cracks present, this is of minor importance. If, however, there are deep scratches, the flywheel should be reworked in a latch or replaced.

5. |
Inspect the pressure plate for any scratches or skewness. If it is uneven, it should be changed.
|
6. |
Inspect the release bearing for noise, wear, etc.
|
7. |
Inspect the driven plate for wear and replace it if necessary.
|
Fitting |
1. |
Place the driven plate and pressure plate on the flywheel and insert the bolts loosely.
|
2. |
Centre the clutch plate with
87 92 327 Centre drift, clutch late
and tighten the bolts alternately.
Tightening torque, petrol cars 22 Nm (16 lbf ft) Tightening torque, diesel cars 15 Nm (11 lbf ft) |
