Anti-freeze sensor


Removing


1. Remove the glove box. See Glove box .

2. Remove the side panel from the centre console.

3. Cars with airbags on passenger side:

Remove the knee guard.

4. Remove the floor air duct.

5. Remove the air duct to the panel side vents.

6. Cars with automatic transmission:

6.a. Detach the transmission control module from the bracket on the bulkhead and leave it hanging by the wiring.

6.b. Remove the bracket.

7. Unplug the cabling from the dashboard. Open the cable tie and move the cabling to the side.

8. Fold down the floor mat and remove the protective cover.

9. Remove the retaining bolts from the fan control (cars with ACC).


10. Remove the evaporator casing cover. The cover must be screwed into position when fitting.

11. Unplug the connector and remove the anti-freeze sensor.


Fitting



1. Connect the anti-freeze sensor body to the low-pressure pipe with the clip. Turn the clip so that it does not rest on the evaporator casing cover.

2. Plug in the connector.

3. Fit a new seal between the evaporator casing cover and the climate control unit. Refit the evaporator casing cover on the climate control unit and tighten the bolts. Check to make sure that no condensation leaks out from the evaporator.

4. Refit the fan control and tighten the retaining bolts (cars with ACC).

5. Check that the compressor cycles as follows:

5.a. ACC:

Set the temperature to 25˚C and low fan speed.

5.b. Control panel:

Set the temperature control on medium heat with the A/C button pressed in and fan in position 1.

6. Refit the protective cover.


7. Plug in the dashboard cabling. Secure the cabling with a cable tie.

8. Cars with automatic transmission:

a Tighten down the bracket for the automatic transmission control module on the bulkhead.

b Fit the control module in the bracket.

9. Refit the air duct for the panel side vents.

10. Refit the floor air duct.

11. Cars with airbags on passenger side:

Refit the knee guard and tighten the bolts.

12. Refit the side panel for the centre console.

13. Put the glove box back in place. See Glove box .
