The side panel must be removed.

Position the car in an aligning bench and cross-measure if necessary.

Grind down the welds and drill out the spot-welds that secure the reinforcements on the outside if the wheel housing. The reinforcement can be refitted it is undamaged.

Grind down the seam-welds that secure the door frame to the front wheel housing and cut the panel clean around the hinges if they are not damaged.
|

Drill out the spot-welds.

Tap loose the door frame and align any damaged panels or sheet metal.
|

Drill holes for plug-welding in the spare part.
|
8. |
Grind the surfaces to be welded on the spare part and on the body.
|

Apply welding primer on the surfaces to be spot-welded. Use Teroson Zinkspray.
|

Cut holes for the hinges if they have not been removed. Fit the spare part and fixate with a couple of welding clamps.

If the hinges have been removed:
Screw the hinges to the door frame. Scratch around the hinge to mark the position. |

Remove the hinges and drill holes for plug-welding in the marking for the hinges. The outer panel must be welded to the reinforcement so that the hinges then can be welded to the outer panel and the reinforcement.

Fit the front wing, door and side panel, check the fit.

If the hinges have been removed:
Fasten the hinges with a couple of welds. |

Remove the front wing, door and side panel. Weld on the door frame.

Plug weld the bottom of the door frame to the reinforcement in the B-pillar and weld on the outer panel around the hinges if they are still fitted.

If the hinges have been removed:
Weld the hinges into place. |
18. |
Seam-weld the door frame to the wheel housing.
|
19. |
Weld on the reinforcement on the outside of the wheel housing.
|
20. |
Grind the welds.
|
21. |
Remove any remaining welding primer. Welding primer reduces adhesion of paint, filler and sealant.
|
22. |
Apply primer to all ground surfaces. Use Standox 1K Primer.
|
23. |
Seal joints and sheet metal flanges with sealant. Use Terostat 1K-PUR.
|
24. |
Apply anti-corrosion agent to the interior of the door frame after painting. Use Terotex HV 400 or Mercasol 1.
