Symptom: Left front window cannot be operated.
Window Relay 1, Front Left. Short to Ground
Fault symptom
Left front window cannot be operated.
Condition
Internal fault in relay.
Diagnostic procedure
The diagnostic trouble code is generated if there is an internal malfunction in the relay or if ground is missing on pin 5 in the relay base.

Check ground for pin 5 in relay base.

Try moving the relay to the position for the left rear window.
|
|

|
Activate the relay with the button for left front window on the centre console.
|
|

|
Left rear window should raise or lower.
|
|
-
|
If the left rear window raises or lowers, the problem is most likely in the wiring harness
|
Checking wiring harness
Intermittent faults can exist during temporary short circuits and open circuits. Wiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to discover problems in the wiring harness and connectors. Observe the multimeter, diagnostic tool or the test lamp during checking.
