Control module

Control module

The control module has a 42-pin connector and the control module is located inside the rear left side upholstery.

The control module knows the position of the soft top and its components by the information received from microswitches and switches for the fifth bow centre position, fifth bow latch, soft top cover latch and the soft top storage. The control module receives further information from the window lifts, switches for windscreen frame as well as the built in switches in the hydraulic cylinders.

The movement is sequential, which means that each movement must be completed before the next one can begin. The control module that controls the valves and the fifth bow lock motor must receive confirmation of the movement from the microswitches and switches within a certain time period. If the confirmation is not received, the movement will stop and the control module will generate a diagnostic trouble code as well as send the bus message “Sound” and “Text information”, and as a result SID emits a signal at the same time as a text message is shown on the display.

The control module is powered from the +30 and +54 circuits and is adapted for a voltage between 10-16 volts. When the ignition is turned to the ON position, current from the +54 circuit activates the control module.
