Microswitch for fifth bow intermediate position
Microswitch for fifth bow intermediate position |
The fifth bow is operated using two hydraulic cylinders that are located at the soft top mechanism's mounting in the body and a microswitch that is located on the LH side of the soft top mechanism. The microswitch for fifth bow intermediate position follows a cam on the soft top mechanism.
The microswitch is actuated when the fifth bow is in horizontal position level with the hinge of the soft top cover and down to an angle of approx. 20°. In this position, the microswitch is closed. In other positions, it is open.
When the soft top is opened and the fifth bow is in the horizontal position even with the hinge of the soft top cover, the microswitch closes. When the microswitch is closed, the control module activates the hydraulic valve for "Hood movement DOWN". When the fifth bow is at an angle approx. 20 ° under horizontal position, the control module activates the hydraulic valve "Fifth bow DOWN", at which time pressure in the cylinders releases and the fifth bow glides into place against the slide plates of the soft top cover.
When raising (closing) the soft top, the control module ignores the microswitch for the fifth bow intermediate position.
Microswitch pin 3 is connected to control module pin 4 and microswitch pin 2 is connected to grounding point G36. When the ignition is turned ON, the control module outputs B+ via a 1 kOhm resistor to the microswitch from pin 4 and when the fifth bow reaches its intermediate position, the microswitch closes and the control module inputs are grounded.
