Restoring surface structure on bumpers, spoilers and scuff plates.
| Restoring surface structure on bumpers, spoilers and scuff plates. |
| Note | ||
| Always use a spray gun with top-mounted cup and a recommended nozzle of 1.8 - 2.4 mm. | ||
| An HVLP-system will also give a good result. |
| 1. | Grind the damaged area with abrasive paper of grade 400 - 500.   | |
| 2. | Clean the component with Teroson FL cleaner. | |
| 3. | Mask the component so that only the damaged area is visible. | |
| 4. | Start by priming the damaged area with two coats of a mixture for surface structuring. Mixture: 70% Terotex 3000 (white or black) 20% 2K lacquer Always use 2K lacquer in the mixture to increase durability, even when treating white or black components. 10% Normal hardener (suitable for the lacquer) but not of MS-type. | |
| 5. | Allow to dry and grind as necessary. | |
| 7. | Place the component in a varnishing furnace set to 60°C so that the structure hardens. | |
Tip: The mixture can also be used to “raise” very small plastic burrs on ground surfaces. Afterwards, harden the component in an oven at 60°C and rub down with Scotchbrite or similar.
