|
Human experience:
Ethanediol: Deadly if swallowed, approx. 5 g/kg body weight. Deadly dose approx. 90-110 g for adults, correspondingly lower for children. Small doses may cause: unconsciousness, kidney damage, damage to the central nervous system.

Inhalation
|
Vapours or mist in high concentrations may cause irritation to the nose and throat, headaches, nausea and tiredness.

Skin contact
|
Mildly irritating to skin.
|
Eye contact
|
May cause mild irritation, experienced as temporary slight discomfort and seen as reddening of the eye.
|
Ingestion
|
Harmful. Causes: Headache. Tiredness. Confusion. Incoordination, problems with walking. Dizziness. Nausea. Vomiting. Low blood pressure. Cardiac arrhythmia. Kidney damage. Unconsciousness. Symptoms may be delayed. Serious poisoning may lead to death.
