Check the operation and condition of the belt tensioner by pressing the belt. The belt should return smoothly and evenly to its correctly tensioned state.

Checking belt condition

The belt must be free of cracks and without any signs of material shedding.

If a crack or other defect is visible on the profile or rear side, the belt must be replaced.

If there is oil leakage from the auxiliaries side of the engine, a check and eventual replacement of the drive belt is recommended.
