Fuel filter

Warning

Removing the fuel filter entails dismantling part of the car's fuel system. Therefore, pay attention to the following points:

Maintain good ventilation! If an approved ventilation system for fuel vapour is available, make sure it is used.

Used protective gloves! Prolonged contact with fuel can cause skin irritation.

Keep a class BE fire extinguisher nearby! Watch out for sparks in connection with breaking power circuits, short-circuits, for example.

Smoking is strictly prohibited.

Use protective goggles.

1. Remove the protective cover over the fuel filter. Remove the filter holder from the bracket by tapping carefully. Use a drift.

2. Carefully pinch the soft part of the fuel lines with pinch-off pliers 30 07 739.

3. Loosen the drain plug in the bottom of the filter holder and the upper screw on the filter housing. Drain the filter.

4. Undo the upper bolt fully and remove the filter together with the filter canister.

5. Remove the filter and clean the filter housing.

6. Fit in reverse order.

7. Start the engine and check that there are no leaks from the system. If the engine stops due to air in the system, bleed the system. Run the starter motor until the engine starts and the system is bled.
