      | 1. | Remove the intake hose and the resonator (B204i).

      | 2. | Zero the engine and remove the plug.

      | 3. | Extract the locating pin and spring. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 4. | Remove the chain tensioner.

   New chain tensioners are supplied with the spring under tension. Be careful not to remove the pin before the chain tensioner has been fitted in place on the engine.

      | 1. | Prepare the chain tensioner for fitting by pressing down the catch and pushing in the chain tensioner. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 2. | Fit the chain tensioner with a 27 mm socket. 
 Tightening torque: 63 Nm (47 lbf ft)
 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 3. | Fit the chain tensioner plug with push rod and spring. 
 Tightening torque: 22.5 Nm (16.6 lbf ft)
 
 
 
        As the plug is screwed in, the spring pushes the tensioning arm out and so tautens the chain.

      | 4. | Fit the resonator and intake hose (B204i).
