| Replacing (in car) | 
| 2. | Raise the car, remove the front right wheel and remove the cover. Lift off the drive belt from the crankshaft belt pulley. | |
| 3. | Remove the protective plate and insert the flywheel locking attachment, part no. 83 94 868, against the flywheel gear ring.   | |
| 4. | Remove the crankshaft pulley.   | |
| 5. | Remove the old seal with a screwdriver. | |
| 6. | Fit the new seal with the fitting tool, part no. 83 94 876.   | |
| 7. | Fit the crankshaft pulley. Tightening torque: 175 Nm (129.5 lbf ft) | |
| 8. | Fit the drive belt. Check the position of the belt on all the belt pulleys and fit the cover. | |
| 9. | Fit the wheel. Tightening torque: 120 Nm (89 lbf ft) | |
| 10. | Lower the car to the floor. | |
| 11. | Relieve the belt tensioner with a ratchet handle extension and remove the drill.   | |
| 12. | Start the engine and run it at idling speed for a while. Switch off the engine and check that the belt is positioned correctly. | |
